Through Faith missions East Sussex 'Follow up'
Churches in Hastings and Newhaven involved in last Autumn's ‘Walk East Sussex Coast' are having follow-up missions in October. They've invited the organisers of last year's outreach, Through Faith Missions (TFM), to work with them. Last year TFM had 230 of its mission volunteers deployed in over 50 churches in East Sussex. Wellington Square Baptist Church in Hastings is having a TFM team working at the prayer conference ‘Ablaze', running from 13-17 October. For more details see: www.ruachministries.org/ablaze/default.htm. Many delegates from across Europe have signed up for what the organisers believe will be a hugely significant five days. The TFM team will be involved in practical evangelism in the surrounding area during and after the conference.
The following week, 17-25 October, another team will be based nearby at St. Leonard's parish church, helping with a wide-ranging mission programme, and on the weekend 23-25 October, a smaller team will be in working with the churches in Newhaven.
Jonathan Mortimer is the Associate Minister of Missions at TFM, and he is receiving more requests for help than ever before. "We are working with churches of all denominations across the country", he says. "In deploying our teams of volunteers we always underline that we're coming to do mission with the local church, not for it. Over 4,000 men and women have been with us on mission over the years. To have a team of ten working in a place for a week can be a great blessing."
