Ecumenical prayer meeting on Saturday 13th March 2010 from 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Eastbourne Prayer Centre, 13 Lismore Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 3AY.
The purpose is to pray for Eastbourne and the surrounding areas
The prayer group was started after the Lets God Speak Today meetings in the late 1980's, and has continued to meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month ever since
Joint Church Mission 26th - 31st March 2010

Three Eastbourne churches - All Saints', All Souls' and Holy Trinity with the support of South Street Free Church are planning a week of mission events in the week leading up to Easter 2010. It will form part of a national mission known as "A Passion for Life" http://www.apassionforlife.org.uk/ by means of which churches across the UK will be sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in their local communities. The events will range from those aimed at members of the churches' existing groups to larger evening meetings with well-known Christian speakers who will give their testimonies and speak about their faith to any who wish to come. At present, the following speakers are confirmed in March 2010: Fri 26th 10:00am Bishop Wallace and evangelist Roger Carswell in conversation at All Saints'. 8:00pm Can there be forgiveness - Billy Burns (who forgave the man who shot him) with Roger Carswell at All Souls. Sat 27th 8:00pm Real Science, Real Faith - Geneticist, Professor Sam Berry & Rev. Dr Steve Jeffery discuss science and belief at All Souls. Sun 28th 8:00pm Fundamentalism, Terror and Faith: Is Christianity Good For The World? Rev. Dr Mike Reeves on how the atheists are onto something! at Holy Trinity Church Mon 29th 8:00pm An evening with Fiona Castle. Widow of entertainer Roy Castle, in conversation with Rev. John Cheeseman at Holy Trinity Church Tue 30th 8:00pm Zimbabwe, cricket & faith: Henry Olonga. An evening with Henry Olonga, international cricketer and singer at All Saints' Church Wed 31st 8:00pm An Evening with Jonathan Aitken. The politics, perjury and prison of Jonathan Aitken and how he found God in the depths at All Saints Church They would value your prayers for this exciting time, so please support them by praying both for the organisation of the event, and more importantly for non-Christians to come.
Day of Prayer for Christian MarketPlace 26-03-2010

Following the success of the first Day of Prayer last September, it is proposed to hold a second Day of Prayer for the UK Christian trade on Friday 26th March 2010.
The plan is for all parts of the Christian media industry, retailers, suppliers, distributors and customers, to gather together on that day to pray for our trade at a time, and in places, to suit as many people as possible.
Joy McIlroy, from Ashburnham bookshop, who started the ball rolling last year over the internet said, "Further to the recent Christian Resources Together Consultation Day and the break-up of IBS-STL UK, we felt it was right to come together once again in prayer to thank God for his provision and to seek his guidance as we move forward together."
The suggestion is that the focus of prayer should be for all aspects of the trade as we seek to move forward post-Biblica - but with a special focus on the local Christian bookshop.
Clem Jackson, editor of ‘Christian Marketplace', said, "At the Consultation Day we were challenged to pray for our trade, more regularly, and to listen to what God is saying to us. The Day of Prayer last September caught the imagination and attention of people in a way which I know surprised us all and is something which I believe we must continue with."

Day of Prayer for Christian Marketplace 28-03-2010

Following the success of the first Day of Prayer last September, it is proposed to hold a second Day of Prayer for the UK Christian trade on Sunday 28th March 2010.
In addition to the Day of Prayer for the trade, by the trade on Friday 26th March 2010, it is hoped to open this up to the church at large by asking local churches to pray for the trade and particularly their local Christian bookshop, during their services on 28th March (Palm Sunday).
"The issue of local Christian bookshop has been the subject of articles in many local publications and even ‘The Times' (‘The call goes out to keep Jesus on the High Street' - Timesonline 17th January)," said Jackson. "We need to tap into, and develop, this increased awareness and get local congregations ‘on board'."
This initiative provides another opportunity for bookshop managers to make contact with local church leaders and seek their support. "We suggest that bookshop managers contact their local church leaders with prayer pointers etc. to help this process," said Jackson. "But equally, church leaders who are readers of this magazine are urged to take this initiative on themselves."
Those who are able to host prayer events on 26th March are asked to contact the UK Christian Bookshops blog (http://christianbookshopsblog.org.uk/) to communicate their plans and also use Facebook and Twitter to get the message out.

Many exciting events have been registered including the popular Marshmellow Night Art Trail, a series of lunchtime concerts at Eastbourne Parish Church, a concert by Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra, Magic Mandolins, Community Workshops organised by Catalyst Arts, events at The Lamb Inn, a week of exciting Youth events organised by local schools, Artists' Open Houses and events at Towner, Theatres and the Redoubt amongst many others.

Eastbourne Shout 23rd April 6.15 for 6.30pm

Artists Open Houses for the duration of the festival
Once again the artists of Eastbourne are opening their doors to reveal the incredible and diverse art the town has to offer.Works incude painting, printmaking,photography, textiles, jewellery and much much more. The theme for 2010 main celebrations is "Glory in the Cross", to include internationally renowned speakers such as Jim Packer and Alistair Begg. Sung worship will be with the well known worship leader Stuart Townend and Phatfish. The Saturday evening late night concert will be led by Lou Fellingham and Phatfish.
