Street Cleaner Awards

The unsung heroes of Eastbourne's streets have again received some recognition this year. The annual Street Cleaners' Awards evening, sponsored by Churches Together for Eastbourne, took place on 25 November 2009.

Awards were made to street cleaners, recycling teams, refuse teams and other mobile teams, who are often out in all weathers and at all hours keeping Eastbourne in the pristine state we take for granted.

This year the awards were presented by the Mayor of Eastbourne. The winners are chosen by SITA/Suez managers following nominations from local people, and they were treated to a quality fish and chip supper at the Odyssey Restaurant.
