The Summer of Hope

The year 1967 went down in history as the "summer of love", when media coverage across America and Europe was given to young people who sought to cast off conservative social values. In contrast, 2009 could be the "summer of hope" for many people living and working in Eastbourne.

Christians in the town, who are actively looking to share their hope with friends and neighbours, are involved in supporting some of the activities due to take place over the summer months.

This is an exciting time to be a resident of Eastbourne, with the launch of many exciting new projects in the town. One
of these is a brand new arts venture this August by Catalyst Arts, who are organising a summer school for people
of all ages, skills and backgrounds - see page 3.

Another completely different initiative, Street Pastors, is coming to Eastbourne and you can find out how to get involved
below. You can also read about the new Arndale Centre Chaplaincy and join with us in welcoming four new church leaders to the town. There are details of the Ugandan orphans choir concert hosted by the Quicken Trust and of some Through Faith Missions follow-up events in Hastings and Newhaven.

There are so many opportunities to get involved this summer; but whatever you decide to do, don't forget to share the hope that you have been given with your friends and neighbours.

Have a great summer!
