Elim Dream Comes True

The new Elim Family Centre officially opened in October 2008. Situated in Hartfield Road, the Centre offers brand new conference and community facilities, a nursery, Little Acorns, which is proving very popular, and Elim retirement flats for the over 55s.

The development has transformed Elim church, whose members have given sacrificially into this vision for many years. The Centre is open six days a week and there is always something going on.

The leader, Keith Jackson, said: "It has been brilliant to be able to support parents and families in their struggles, not just in times of recession, but through medical dramas (one of the children had open heart surgery and we were able to offer prayer and support to the family) and all that life brings."

The church is growing and many exciting things are happening, including an Alpha Course and Holy Trinity Brompton's Marriage Course. Later this year it is planned to run HTB's new Parenting Course!

As the Family Centre seeks to become more of a resource for the town and local community, plans are underway for a programme of conferences to be held on Saturdays each Autumn and Spring as well as a new Mothers and Toddlers group.
