Bringing music to life

Gospel music is fun! It is a wonderful means of sharing Bible truth and religious experience in a way that is acceptable to believers, doubters and unbelievers alike. The Life Gospel Choir started out some four years ago under the leadership of Gerry Page. From just 15 or so members, the choir has grown, mostly by word of mouth, and now has 25-30 members who share an enthusiasm for gospel music in all its forms.

The singers are joined by a hand of musicians (drums, bass, guitar and keyboards) drawn from across East Sussex, mainly from churches. They share a passion for music, singing - and the gospel. Christian faith is by no means a requirement for being in the choir, but it is at the heart of gospel music and certainly features in the lives of many of the members.

The choir is very adaptable, and can perform with just a small number of people if required. They have sung at weddings, church services, special events and birthdays, charity concerts and performances at the Congress Theatre. They even have a regular spot at the Polegate Windmill open day!

Their music is thought-provoking, challenging - but, above all, fun. And it lifts and touches people from all walks of life, bringing, as it does, a message of hope.

The choir will be performing at various events connected with Hope for Eastbourne. Check out their website at www.lifegospelchoir.co.uk for their programme and contact details, or keep an eye out in the local press. If you would like them to perform at an event for your church, they will be happy to hear from you.Bringing music to life
