Open Church

South Street Free Church, situated in the Little Chelsea area of Eastbourne, not far from the Town Hall, is open every Friday from 11 am. to 3 pm.for anyone passing by to pop in for refreshments and chat, or simply for a sit down in a quiet place.

A handful of church members are on hand to welcome visitors. "They talk about so many different things, sometimes sharing their problems with us too. We receive interesting comments and feedback." One response was: "I'll tell my friends to come in because you don't judge people." Another person said they were frightened about death, but always knew there was a God.

Maybe Open Church is an action that other congregations can take, thus making their premises more available to the general public
