About usAbout Hope for EastbourneHope for Eastbourne is a local initiative set up to encourage residents in Eastbourne and surrounding areas to get more involved in their communities on a day-to-day basis. Organised by individuals from local churches, Hope for Eastbourne is seeking to create a sense of community that transcends the barriers of age, lifestyle and culture. Activities can range from taking time out to have a cup of tea with a neighbour, to organising a barbecue on the beach for the whole street! About Hope in the UKFounded by Andy Hawthorne (The Message Trust), Mike Pivalachi (Soul Survivor) and Roy Crowne (Youth for Christ) Hope is intended to be a catalyst for the whole nation, encouraging churches to find ways to impact their local communities. There are five focus areas to Hope, these are: Fresh Hope (January) - Exploring opportunities on how to make a fresh start, including courses in marriage, parenting, health and fitness The BIG Hope (Easter) - Ideas for celebrating Easter in a variety of different ways. Hope on the Streets (May) - We're challenging Christians to join together to give one million hours of time to helping people in our communities with practical support. Hope Explored (September) - Opportunities to explore what it means to be a Christian through initiatives such as Alpha courses. The Gift of Hope (Christmas) - Encouragement to be creative as we explore opportunities to celebrate the hope that Jesus brings us.
If you have been impacted by Hope in your community we'd love to hear your stories so please do let us know. |
